ActiveState: Komodo 10.2 Released! New Unit Testing, Slack Sharing, Yarn Support
The Komodo team has been hard at work, and some of that work you can feast your eyes upon today with the release of Komodo IDE 10.2. This release is focussed primarily on two features: unit testing and Slack sharing, but it’s not just about the features; we’ve fixed roughly 100 bugs and made quite a few improvements and enhancements. We hope you enjoy this iteration of Komodo IDE and look forward to your feedback!
Slack Sharing
If your team lives on Slack, sharing a code snippet is a quick way to get problems solved. Now you can share snippets, diffs and all kinds of code directly from Komodo to your team on Slack. Give your ctrl+c and ctrl+v a break.

I’m really looking forward to the Slack sharing feature since I do live in Slack. 🙂

Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code for Windows, OS X and Linux hits 1.0
Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Microsoft’s cross-platform text editor for developers, hit version 1.0 today after about a year in beta. The company says more than 500,000 developers now actively use the application each month.
The launch of VS Code came as quite a surprise when the company first announced it at its Build developer conference last year. Microsoft, after all, had never offered a code editor for OS X and Linux before — and definitely not under the Visual Studio brand.
When Microsoft launched the application, it was still missing extensibility and the code for VS Code wasn’t open source yet, either. Since then, the company fixed both of these issues.

And you can even get the source on Github. This is part of Microsoft’s push into the open source world as it courts a wider range of developers.

Try Netbeans PHP IDE for WordPress Development
http://www.wpmayor.com/articles/best-ide-for-wordpress-development/
For fully-fledged regular WordPress development [try] using Netbeans for PHP. It has features like code completion, easy WordPress function reference, project management, database editing, file comparison, FTP, debugging facilities and much more. It can also be extended through plugins available on the Netbeans website. Having all these features integrated into one IDE makes it easier on the developer as it eliminates the need to switch to other windows to access applications (for example Filezilla, PHPMyAdmin etc.)
